Honda Reveals Updated ‘H’ Logo for EV Lineup
With the global auto industry embarking on swift adoption of green technology, some old car conglomerates have also taken similar steps. In a recent event, Honda has also joined the movement by unveiling a redesigned logo exclusively for its upcoming electric vehicles (EVs).
Earlier, British car manufacturer ‘Jaguar’ and Italian automaker ‘Lamborghini’ made similar moves, confining these to sustainability and decarbonization.
Honda Logo H
Honda’s recent action marks the first major update to the iconic “H” logo since the 1980s, signaling a bold step forward in the brand’s commitment to sustainable innovation.
The redesigned logo will make its debut on Honda’s future EV lineup, including a sedan and an SUV set for production under the Honda 0 Series in 2026.
“In launching the next-generation EVs, Honda designed a new H mark to express the company’s determination to undergo a historic transformation as well as the ability to constantly pursue new challenges and advancements,” the brand stated.
The new emblem simplifies the previous design by removing the thin square encircling the “H.” While the logo retains its curved corners, the upper prongs have been stretched wider, and the overall design is thicker and more grounded. This updated look pays homage to Honda’s original 1960s logo while embodying a modern and forward-thinking aesthetic.
Honda described the refreshed design as resembling “two outstretched hands,” symbolizing the brand’s dedication to expanding the possibilities of mobility and serving the diverse needs of EV users.
The updated logo was officially showcased on two vehicle concepts during CES 2024, marking the introduction of the Honda 0 Series. These EVs are developed under Honda’s Thin, Light, and Wise strategy, which emphasizes efficiency, cutting-edge design, and a seamless connection between driver and vehicle.
Jaguar’s Updated Logo
British carmaker Jaguar has revealed a refreshed logo as part of its transition to electric-only vehicles. The new wordmark, combining upper and lower case letters, is described as Jaguar’s new “signature,” symbolizing a shift into a “new era” as the company phases out petrol-powered cars.
Jaguar joins other brands like Volkswagen, which also redesigned its logo into a flat 2D version for its electric vehicle lineup.
Lamborghini’s Transformation
Italian automaker Lamborghini has introduced a rebranded logo as part of its sustainability-focused “transformation process.” The iconic shield featuring a bull remains, but with simplified detailing and a sleeker, thinner typeface.
This redesign, the brand’s first in two decades, reflects its commitment to decarbonization under the Direzione Cor Tauri plan and will feature across all official channels.
