So, after a very long wait, the Hyundai Elantra was finally launched yesterday. The company has offered a number of great features like a Wireless Charger, Smart Trunk and 2000cc engine in this C-segment sedan. No doubt, the car will give a tough competition to Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. However, the biggest question about the success of this car was its price. The consumers and local buyers were hoping that Hyundai will launch Elantra is a very competitive price of Civic Oriel and Corolla Grande X. However, the newly-launched vehicle is a bit expensive.

The South Korean company has set the price of Elantra at Rs4,049,000. In comparison, the current price of Honda Civic Oriel 1.8L is Rs3,979,000, while the rate of Corolla Altis Grande X (Black Interior) is Rs3,999,000. The Altis is the top-of-the-line Toyota car, while only RS Turbo is expensive than Oriel in the Honda line-up.

It is pertinent to mention that these are Ex-Factory prices.

Is Hyundai Elantra Expensive?

As mentioned earlier, the consumers were hoping that the car would be launched in the price range of Rs3.7-3.8million. This price would have given a tough competition to both Civic and Corolla. However, the set price, we think, is a bit high. Because after the inclusion of With Holding Tax and Freight Charges, the cost would further increase, and the consumer would not be happy about it.

In our opinion, the company could have launched the car around Rs3.8million, because it would be a really competitive price. As in Tucson’s case, Hyundai announced a very competitive price against KIA Sportage.

We wish the best of luck to Hyundai Elantra, and we hope that this new car would be a major success in Pakistan. Because with new entrants, the local consumer would have more choices.
