Today we’re back with the owner’s review of Ghazanfar Jaffery’s Toyota Vitz. This car has been with him for 8 years and has been part of his success on YouTube. This is the second generation Vitz which was launched in 2005 which shared the same platform as the Toyota Belta. It comes with a 3 cylinder 1.0 liter engine producing 70hp and 94Nm of torque paired with a 4-speed CVT transmission.

Purchase Decision

The owner got this car as a graduation gift from his parents. At that time, he had 3 options to choose from, Mira, Passo or Vitz. He opted for the Vitz as it was Visually attractive and was also doing well in the market.

Known Issues

This generation of the Vitz has a known issue regarding the engine. The 4-cylinder engine in the first generation was replaced with a 3-cylinder 1.0 liter engine that is prone to vibration, especially when idling. Along with that, this car is also known for its excessive engine noise.

Fuel Average

As per the owner, the fuel average is good, within city, it gives around 12 to 13 km/l with AC. The owner has not tested the fuel average on the highway but presumes that it will be better.

Suspension

As per the owner, the suspension is soft over potholes which makes it comfortable for the roads of Karachi. Ground clearance is okay, but not too good as the car may hit speed breakers with multiple passengers.

Space

The owner is very satisfied with the interior space of the Vitz as it has good legroom and headroom and the cabin is quite spacious. “ Compared to the Picanto, this has way more space”, he stated. Storage space is also good with a decent sized boot and compartments in the interior.

Maintenance

The owner maintains the car regularly and the average oil change cost is pretty nominal.” As this car has been on the roads for so long, mechanics are aware of its nitty gritty”, he added.
