Hyundai-Nishat Motors has showcased its Hybrid car, Hyundai Ioniq, at its Digital Showroom at Emporium Mall, Lahore.
It is important to note here that the showcased car has not been launched in Pakistan as it was just a display unit, the company will be launching the facelift version in the near future. Nonetheless, the car comes equipped with 1.6L Naturally Aspirated Atkinson-Cycle Inline-4 engine coupled with a 6-speed dual clutch transmission that makes 104 hp and 265 Nm of torque and the electric motor adds more hp and both the engine and electric motor produce 141 HP combined which is, in my humble opinion, is good. Hyundai Ioniq is a front wheel drive vehicle and the battery which it is using for power generation is Lithium-Ion Polymer, unlike Toyota Prius which uses nickel-metal hydride battery.
The front fascia of the car is sleek and amazing; it has projection headlamps with LED Daytime Running lights. The Front Grill is glossy which is giving the car a great look. Moreover, the side profile is angular and very aerodynamic. It has a high mounted stop lamp at the rear. The handles of the outside door handles are in chrome finishing.
The car comes equipped with cruise control and a keyless entry option. As far as the safety features are concerned, the Hyundai Ioniq has 7 SRS airbags as opposed to Prius which has 6 airbags. Furthermore, it has ABS, HAC, and ESC as well. There is also back view camera in the car and parking sensors as well.
