We are most delighted to inform you of yet another spotting of a mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette prototype rolling around in the wild. Fortunately, this new batch of spy shots reveals more details than before. You can easily grasp some of the hints of changes in design at the front end, the steering wheel, and the brakes.

Starting from the frontend – where the most significant changes are spotted – you can spot the passenger side of the front bumper. The grille in the front seems to end at the center of the car. His sort of design is strongly similar to the iconic 1997-2005 C5 Corvettes. If we follow the C5-style, we can expect a wider center portion of the front bumper for the license plate, but its anyone’s guess. Could be that the design team only decided to bring in the grille design of C5 and not other features, who knows. Another change on the grille is that the ends on each side seem a bit larger than in current models. Another major design change that you can notice from these spy-shots is that the headlights are stretched horizontally a bit more than the ones in the current model.

The spy shots also reveal the interior of the car, mainly the cockpit. The steering wheel of the new mid-engine Corvette has an easily-to-spot flat top like those we see in steering wheels of racing cars. If we assume that the bottom of the steering wheel is also flat, this Corvette will not be the first one to feature such a wheel as it has been featured in Ford GT.

Let’s get back to the outside of the prototype. A clear feature about the car that you can notice is the brakes in the front and rear. At the front wheels, you can spot a single beefy caliper while on the rear wheels, we can make-out two braking calipers. One of those calipers could probably be a separate parking brake.

The mid-engine Corvette could be revealed next year if everything goes smoothly if not, the launching could be postponed to the year 2020. Since Cadillac’s former boss stated that they don’t want to share the 4.3-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, chances are the mid-engine Corvette will feature a 5.5-liter V8 beast but anything said right now is just a guess.
