“ON Money” Culture Hits Bike Market in Pakistan
We know that the “ON Money” culture is prevalent in the car market of Pakistan, especially when a new car is launched. In the last few years, we have a number of new cars like Toyota Yaris, Suzuki Swift, Changan Alsvin, Honda Civic, Honda City, and Suzuki Swift. With every new launch, “ON Money” ensured its presence. And sadly, the same culture is hitting the bike market with full force now. Our research shows that there is “ON Money” on bikes of Honda and Yamaha, there are similar rumors about Suzuki bikes, but we couldn’t confirm them.
“ON Money” on Honda & Yamaha Bikes
To confirm, we reached out to our sources in the bike market, and they told us about the current “ON Money” on Honda and Yamaha bikes. “It also depends on the availability of a bike in the market, and premium is decided according to it,” the sources told us.
They added this culture has existed in the bike market for almost a year but is now in full swing. “It basically started from Honda CG 125 (Black) as bike lovers wanted that bike, which led to high demand and eventually resulted in introduction of premium.
As per our information, the following bikes are being affected by this culture.
- Honda CD70, the most famous bike in Pakistan, is among the affected as the current “ON Money” on this bike ranges from Rs. 2,000 to 2,500. “If the bike is readily available, then there is no “ON,” but if you book it, then you have to pay it,” the sources told us.
- Then comes Honda CG 125 (Self Start), whose current rate is Rs. 3,500-4,000. And again, it depends on the availability of the bike. Some of our sources told us there is a premium on regular CG 125, and the rate is the same.
- If we talk about Yamaha bikes, the current demand for YBR (Simple Sports variant) is Rs. 8,000.
- Meanwhile, the YBR 125 G & Grey’s rate is Rs. 10,000. Although Grey variant usually remains out of stock.
- And finally, the current premium on YBZ & DX is Rs. 8,000 with a delivery time of 1 month.
However, there is a twist, a small one though, that there is a discount ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000 on Chinese bikes. So, a bit of good news, right?
