Porsche 911 Speedster spotted testing with latest GT3

The last limited-production Porsche 911 Speedster special marked the close of 997-generation of 911. A number of spy shots have been taken on multiple occasions of the next-generation of the Porsche 911 Speedster by now. Each batch of spy shots has revealed something distinctive about the new upcoming model. As far as what we have seen, many have concluded that the upcoming model is basically a drop-top version of the 911.2 Porsche 911 GT3 as the looks go. If the auto manufacturer has decided to use the performance traits of the same model, then we can expect a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine is producing up to 500 horsepower (or maybe even more) featured under the hood of the new Porsche 911 speedster iteration.

As you can see from the latest spy shots, the car almost looks like a GT3 Touring while the roof seems to be taken from the 911 Cabriolet. However, if you look closely at these images, you will see that the roof has something unique about it. The rear end of the convertible top is clearly camouflaged to hide something. If anyone can make out anything with the little detail that passes through the camouflage, you might notice that the convertible top attaches to the car’s rear end in the same way as the Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder that is still waiting to come out.

Everything except that is almost the same. And you can also verify this assessment by the fact that the automaker decided to use no camouflage on any other part of the car except its convertible roof’s rear half because there isn’t anything unique enough to hide about it. The bumpers and the wheels are taken straight out of the 911.2 Porsche 911 GT3. Well, now that Porsche has used so much from the 911 GT3 regarding design, we would be pleased if the auto manufacturer also used some of the performance parts from the 911.2 Porsche 911 GT3 that we love so much in the upcoming Porsche 911 Speedster. One great performance part that I would personally love to have in the new Porsche 911 Speedster is the slick manual transmission of the GT3.

You probably won’t have to wait a lot for the debut of the new 911 Speedster; the car will most probably be unveiled this fall. Of course, this means that the authorized dealers probably will start taking orders soon if they haven’t already.
