Local car industry is bearing the shocks of a dwindling economy and a rising tide of inflation. It has been a few years, good times of the entire Pakistani car industry, interrupted by price hike series and buried the fortunes.

All the market players massively increased their car prices, but Al Haj Automotive did something different – came with a drastic increase of up to 47%.

Here is how much price jump Proton cars have observed in their car prices since the inception of this year.

Buying a car over these nine months has been a wild experience. Roaring car prices have shattered buyers’ capacity to purchase a new car. Same is the case with used cars now.

Local automakers have hiked car prices by 47% since January this year. Car companies have blamed the rupee depreciation, flourishing inflation, and rising raw materials and shipping costs for the current market dynamics.

A report shared by Engineering Development Board (EDB) has revealed the car price drift from January to September 2022.

Interestingly, in recent reports, the incumbent government and car makers are hitting each other for the recent car price hikes. In the past few months, price hikes, production cuts, import curbs, and surge in taxes and duties have reversed the fortunes.
