Sab Say Sasti & Budget Friendly LC 300 – A Review
In the domain of luxury SUVs, Toyota Land Cruiser is a trendsetter in Pakistan, and the LC300 is definitely the most wanted one. Offering a perfect combination of power and performance, it is the most suited option for daily commuters and weekly off-roaders. Due to its massive road presence, it has become a choice of influencers and bureaucrats. Let’s dig further to find out the difference between its variants.
LC 300 AX – Overview
Land Cruisers come in Pakistan in two variants: the ZX and AX. The ZX is the top-of-the-line variant. But the one we reviewed was an AX variant owned by Junaid, who is fond of SUVs. Previously, having cars like Prado and Civic, we were keen to find out what made him self-import the AX and not the ZX.
However, during the banter, Junaid shared his avoidance of EVs for the same reasons: range anxiety and a lack of charging infrastructure.
AX vs ZX
The majority of buyers prefer the ZX over the AX variant due to misconceptions about the engine and specifications. However, these differences are so minute that they can easily be ignored over the cost difference.
Previously, ZX had air suspension, memory seats, a sunroof, and other different features. As of now, AX and ZX have the same suspension and engine with just minor cosmetic changes. Their interiors have different color themes. However, AX offers fabric seats, an Android Auto-embedded infotainment system, an analog meter, and a push button for start/stop.
Engine and Fuel Economy
The LC300 boasts a 3.5 L engine with a twin-turbo. However, this gas guzzler takes around 5 to 6 km/L. Junaid, who previously had a 2008 Prado, vouched that this LC gives him better fuel economy than the previous one.
Toyota car maintenance is easier than ABC, and everyone knows this. The premium oil change takes around Rs. 28,0000 while the registration cost was Rs. 2 million.
ADAS and Other Features
AX boasts all major driver assistance features, including radar, active collision control, adaptive cruise, blind sport monitoring, and others. It also features a 14-speaker sound system, wireless charging, wired Android Auto, a cool box, and ventilated seats.
Considering the insignificant changes, the LC300 AX variant seems like a perfect choice over the ZX variant, as it has a difference of Rs. 20 million.
