Sazgar-BAIC vehicles to debut at Pakistan International Auto Show 2020
Sazgar Engineering Works Limited is all set to participate in Pakistan International Auto Show 2020 starting from 21st February.
According to the details, the company will make its huge entry in Pakistan’s largest auto show as it’s ready to display BAIC vehicles in the event. This year’s Pakistan International Auto Show (PAPS) 2020 will once again be a 3-day event that will kick-off from 21st February and will continue till 23rd February 2020.
The event is being held at Lahore International Expo Centre. The company is expected to showcase its following upcoming BAIC cars at this year’s event.
- BAIC BJ40 Plus (off-road vehicle)
- BAIC Senova X25 (compact crossover)
- BAIC Senova D20 (5-door hatchback)
The models mentioned above of BAIC are part of the company’s plan to introduce in the local auto sector of Pakistan. BAIC BJ40 Plus is a proper off-road vehicle whose 4-door version debuted back in 2018. It comes in two different engine options i.e., 2.0-litre Turbo and 2.3-litre turbo mated to either a manual or automatic transmission.
Recently the compact crossover of BAIC Senova X25 and the 5-door hatchback BAIC Senova D20 was spotted testing in Lahore. It shows that the company is testing the vehicle on the local roads before introducing them to the local industry of Pakistan.
BAIC Senova X25 is a subcompact crossover that debuted back in 2015. It comes equipped with a 1.5-liter engine mated to both manual and automatic transmission.
The third vehicle is a 5-door hatchback of BAIC, which is being produced under the Senova brand. The production of D20 started in 2012, and it comes in two different engine options i.e.1.3-litre or 1.5-liter coupled with a 5-speed manual and automatic transmission.
Sazgar Engineering Works has not yet revealed the launch date of these vehicles in Pakistan. It’s a great opportunity for the company to showcase the CBU units of these vehicles and interact with its potential future buyers.
Sazgar collaborated with BAIC, which is the Chinese state-owned Beijing Automotive Industry Company and acquired category A Greenfield status from the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoI&P) back in March 2018. The vehicles produced by the local company will be sold under the brand name of BAIC.
The company’s production plant is located in the provincial capital of Punjab, which has a production capacity of 24,000 units per year. Apart from Sazgar, Hyundai Nishat Motors is also taking part in the event held in Lahore. The South Korean auto giant will be showcasing its several upcoming models, including Tucson, Elantra, and Sonata, at PAPS 2020.
Different auto manufacturers, auto parts manufacturers, suppliers, and auto service providers will be participating in this year’s auto show.
