So, Here is an Update on Upcoming Civic 11
So, the good news is that arrival of Honda Civic 11 goes one step closer. The production version has been seen (only in China), however, the official release is still a few weeks away. Here are some details of its exterior, interior and potential launch.
Exterior:
The production version mimics the prototype reveal, we saw earlier. On the front, we also see newer headlights and DRLs. There is a new upright front grille, and the vehicle looks lower and wider on front. The “C” shaped taillights are gone and replaced with new design slim LED lights, as you saw in the prototype clip. There is a new bumper and elongated slim reflectors on the upper edge, while a new blacked-out exhaust outlet in the bumper is giving it an overall premium and sporty look.
The overall outlook seems inspired by the current generation Accord like the wider and straight frontal hood line and more pronounced side belt lines, especially the” C pillar” and the notch at the glass corner. The side-view mirrors are also now moved to the door panels instead of the conventional placement at the corner of the door and A-pillar junction as currently, we have on the 10th generation Civic.
Although the recent images and the prototype video clip does not reveal any interior images, but Honda released a sketch of the interior, and it’s a complete overhaul and new comparing the 10th generation Civic.
Interior:
A new infotainment system is on the cards like a new floating type 9-inch touch screen display while new horizontal slim front HVAC vents with simple three-knob controls. The sketch also shows a new steering wheel and instrumental cluster as well as new door and window control panels on the driver side door. Overall a very minimalistic design approach has been adopted.
Safety in Civic 11:
According to Honda, the Civic 11 will have an advanced user interface and enhanced active and passive safety equipment and features. Honda has also improved the frame and chassis’ overall structural integrity with more rigid components and high strength steel.
Engine
As for mechanicals, the current engine lineup is expected to continue with some refinement and improvements. The 11th generation Civic will be offered, both in sedan and hatchback body styles depending upon market/ regions. Honda will not offer the two-door coupe for the 11th generation; a 2-door model was specific to North America and recently discontinued for the current 10th generation.
Lastly, if you are an avid Honda fan and especially a Civic fan, you will recall that most of Honda Prototypes are very close to production models, and we saw it with the current Accord, the Civic X, hatchback as well before the launch of the production model. The prototype seen in the attached clip and now the photographed model in reality further reconfirm this fact.
Reveal:
The production model is expected to be revealed by April 2021, initially in the United States and Canada, with production in the summer of 2021, while sales are starting in the fall of 2021. The European and Asian markets will see the model in the flesh in late 2021 or early 2022.
Civic 11 in Pakistan:
In Pakistan, we should not expect the 11th generation Civic before the middle of 2022 so, Civic X in Pakistan still have an expected 18 months of life left.
As for images we have seen for now, well, its design is subjective, and it may or may not attract you. It is typical for any new generation. Maybe once the actual production model hits the road, it might start growing on you. Remember when Civic X was launched? Initially, people also didn’t like it, but later it became the talk of the town.
Btw, Civic X is the most successful model and still a benchmark in the compact sedan segment even after almost five years in production and even with crossovers’ craziness. Since its launch, Honda sold over 1.5 Million units of Civic X in the United States alone.
