Last week we shared the news of the first locally assembled unit of Peugeot 2008 in Pakistan. The news is a good one rather than a great one for the crossover SUV lovers in Pakistan. The Peugeot Pakistan is coming to the local market in collaboration with Lucky Motors, which has already launched cars like Kia Sportage and Kia Picanto in Pakistan in partnership with Kia motors.
So, now the question arises when the car will be launched here?. Interesting question. And to find the answer, we reached our sources and guess what, they told us something, and here it is. As per our sources, Peugeot Pakistan will launch this crossover SUV in Pakistan by the end of this month. So, rejoice dear petrol heads, we are getting another new car very soon if sources to be believed.
As we have told you earlier, Peugeot 2008 will be the first European car to be launched in Pakistan. Currently, the local market is dominated by Chinese, South Korean and Japanese companies. It is great that we are getting new option and we hope that new company will establish itself quickly. Because more the options, merrier the buyers.
And once again, here are the specs and features of this upcoming car.
Engine and Transmission
The Lucky Motors will launch the vehicle with a 1200cc MPI Turbo Engine, which produces 130hp and 230Nm torque. And the car is going to have 6-Speed Auto Transmission with Front Wheel Drive (FWD).
The interesting bit here is that although Peugeot has specified one engine size for the upcoming 2008 model, there’s an image of the hybrid LCD meter on the website. Plus, there’s a line that says, “equipped with efficient petrol engines to meet the demands of professionals”. Reading between the lines, we think Peugeot might introduce more than one engine options (maybe a hybrid) for Peugeot 2008. If not, they have just copy and pasted everything from their international website.

The French car will come with 3-claw full LED headlights and LED DRLs. If we talk about the wheel size, it will have 17-inch Alloy Wheels. The company is also going to offer a Panoramic Sunroof in the car, which will surely be a great feature.
Interior
The crossover SUV will have a 7-inch Floating Infotainment Touchscreen along with Single-Zone Auto Climate Control. It has a Smart Key entry with a Push Start button and Cruise Control. These features show that it has multiple modern options and features in it.
Safety in Peugeot 2008
And if we discuss the safety features, the first thing is that Peugeot has 6 Airbags. The other safety features include:

- Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
- Rear View Camera
- Front + Rear Parking Sensors
- Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)
- Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
- Blind Spot Detection
- Active Lane Keep Assistance

- Road Sign & Speed Limit Recognition
This news is not a good one, Peugeot got the style, but the cars aren’t comfortable, and have poor durability and overal are expensive.
And don’t be awkward this is not the first European car in Pakistan.
