The scene for everything electric is getting hotter and hotter day by day. Automobile makers across the world have begun to pursue the goal of making long-range electric vehicles.

Only yesterday premium German car manufacturer BMW announced that it has sold as many as 100,000 electric vehicles worldwide. Last year, BMW sold 62,255 electric cars worldwide. Cars like BMW i3 and the 2-series plug-in hybrid Active Tourer have helped BMW achieve the goal. BMW is aiming to have 12 fully electric models by 2025.

On the other hand, another German carmaker, Volkswagen is planning to install 2,800 electric vehicle charging stations in 17 of the most significant U.S. cities by June 2019. VW says the charging stations will be located at roughly 500 sites targeting mostly workplaces and some residential areas. The German carmaker is willing to spend eye-watering $2 billion for this plan. This shows how dedicated companies are to the electric cause.

And now Toyota, the pioneer in hybrid car technology, has announced that it wants to launch more than ten electric vehicles by 2020. This is a significant piece of news considering Toyota does not offer any electric vehicle right now at all. Not only does Toyota want to launch electric vehicles, but also want to launch electric versions of all of its Toyota and Lexus cars.

We already have a Tesla among some Nissan Leaf EVs as well as Chinese electric cars in Pakistan. It is only a matter of time when we start to see Toyota electric cars in Pakistan when they are launched in Japan. Toyota plans to release its first electric vehicle in China, and later expand to other markets like Japan, India, the U.S. and Europe.
