Many of you tend to invent ways to ensure that the fuel economy of the vehicle becomes better or the vehicle doesn’t consume too much fuel. Similarly, car manufacturing companies are also researching and trying to develop engines that use less fuel. Moreover, companies are also modifying the design and aerodynamics of the vehicles to filter out air resistance as much as they can to ensure that the vehicle doesn’t use much energy which leads to more fuel consumption.

Toyota is doing fine in this field as its new Toyota Prius is 10 percent more economical than its predecessor. People usually take care of their engines to save the fuel consumption but neglect to see the small parts of the car which if used properly can boost fuel economy. One such example is the energy-saving tires of the car. You might not know, but the energy-saving tires boost the fuel economy, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency the tires of any vehicle can affect the fuel economy by as much as 17 percent, so always remember to look for smaller things which have a significant impact.

As the fuel prices globally have increased, aside from car manufacturers, tire manufacturers have also come up with ways to make tire most efficient. They have made tire which has less rolling resistance, which means it is easier for the vehicle’s engine to spin tire—meaning the car will enhance its fuel economy. However, higher the rolling resistance means engine would have to buckle up more power to rotate the tires. It would be worth mentioning here that tire manufacturing companies have also produced tires which can grip just the same as standard tires but has less rolling resistance.

Companies use a different kind of techniques to make such tire and to reduce rolling resistance. One example is that they reduce internal friction, which is caused when the footprint of tire’s rubber came into contact with the road.

The tire is also eco-friendly, and almost all new hybrids are being sold with these energy-saving tires.
