On Wednesday 26 September 2018, in a meeting, Sindh Cabinet has decided to auction luxury cars that are over 10-year-old, reports a local media outlet.
The cabinet was informed about the details of the cars which are being used by different departments of Sindh Government; however, the details are not shared with the media. All the stakeholders, present at the meeting, agreed to the point that high-end or luxury vehicles that are over ten years old would be auctioned off.
The action will not be taken anytime soon, as the budget for the new cars will have to be assessed.
Aside from Sindh Cabinet deciding to auction off the cars, it was earlier reported by Dunya News that Sindh Government has refused to return the extra luxury and bulletproof vehicles, which were being used by the different government officials and are making laws to make their use legal.

Different Sindh Government departments have extra 149 luxury cars worth over PKR 1 billion. Even the fleet of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah consist of 18 luxury cars and 10 of them are bulletproof.
Punjab Minister for Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Raja Basharat has also asserted that the provincial government, in accordance with the rule and regulation, will auction cars from different departments.
The Federal Government organized the auction of ultra-luxury PM vehicles. In the first batch over 60 cars were auctioned. The second round of auction will begin in coming weeks.
