In a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, 1st August 2018, it’s stated that the authorities have decided not to change the prices of petroleum products for the month of August.

A few days back Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended the increase in the prices of petroleum products by up to PKR 4. However, the interim government has decided not to increase the prices, as it is a mandate of the newly elected government and it will revise the rates accordingly.

The rates of oil products in the country are as follow:

Prices
Petrol Rs 95.24
High-Speed diesel Rs 112.94
Kerosene oil Rs 83.96
Light-Speed diesel Rs 75.37

Due to incessant hikes in the prices of petroleum products; both the commuters and transporters were lambasting the government, after which the interim government following the Supreme Court’s order, to give relief to the masses, decreased the oil prices in July. The hike in the prices of petroleum products will be decided when the new government take charge of the country.
