Alert: Lahore Police’ New Uniform is Eerily Similar to Pakistan Army Dress

Coming to work today, I thought a martial law was imposed in the country because there were a lot of olive-green uniformed law enforcement officials roaming around Lahore city. Upon inquiry, I found out that Lahore Police have had a uniform change. From the traditional black and khaki to a more natural olive green color.

Personally, I feel this is a good step. The black shirt must have been a punishment to wear in our blazing summers. So the next time you see these clothes on the road, know that this is Punjab Police. It will take some time getting used to this outfit because that black and khaki dress are etched in the back of our minds. I also feel the police might have gotten a new uniform, but what about their attitude? Are we doomed to live with the ‘Thaana Culture’? Real change will occur when the attitude and working of the police change’ for good.  A word of advice for all the motorists out there; so watch out folks! Always abide by the rules and keep necessary identification and documents with you at all times to avoid any inconvenience.

  1. Changing uniform will not do any good. Unless lawless drivers are put behind bars.

  2. It is more closer to what Indian police wears plus wasting 100 kharab rupees on uniform will not change anything .
