132 cars and 136 motorbikes recovered by Anti-Car Lifting Cell

Anti-car lifting cell Islamabad has recovered 132 cars worth PKR 115.6 million in the current year so far from Islamabad and other cities as well.

As per the details, the authority has recovered 75 car from Islamabad while the remaining vehicles from other parts of the country. Not only the authority has recovered cars, but it has also recovered 136 motorbikes which are worth Rs 7.7 million in the process. Over 270 vehicle lifters are also apprehended by the police.

The anti-car lifting cell has also arrested 120 people who were involved in tampering of vehicles. While speaking to the media, a spokesperson of the police said that the action has been taken under the orders of Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Muhammad Amin Bukhari in a bid to curb the city and its surroundings from crime.

Moreover, Pirwadhai Police, Rawalpindi also busted bike lifter gang in the city, arresting four culprits and recovering 7 bikes in the process. The culprits revealed to police that they not only snatched bikes from Pindi but also from Islamabad and Lahore as well.  

Moving onwards, it is imperative to mention here that Sindh government will be launching 2000 security personnel with over 1000-bikes to curb the street crime from the city under its “street watch force” initiative. In the initial phase, the authorities have stationed 200 personnel with 100 bikes in Defence and Clifton to maintain law and order and to stop bike and vehicle snatching.
