Countries Around The World Planning To Ban Fossil Fuels In Near Future
Electric vehicles are not a new phenomenon anymore. And although they are not as popular as one might think they are, but this is set to change in few years as countries such as France, India, China, Britain, and Norway have decided to ban vehicles that run on fossil fuel and rely more on electric-powered vehicles in a bid to clean the environment.

India
The Indian government announced earlier this year that every vehicle sold in the country should be electrically powered by the year 2030. The move is excellent as India hosts cities which are among the world’s most polluted cities. An official of energy adviser lauded this action by the government and said, “This is surely an inspirational target.”
China
Same as India many big Chinese cities are engulfed in pollution. And that is why the government has decided to end the production and sale of vehicles running on gas or petrol. China is world’s most significant marketplace for automobiles with 28 million vehicles sold in 2016 alone. And it would be worth mentioning here that China accounts 40 percent sale of electric-powered vehicles in the world right now. So it is an excellent move by the country to invest more in the electric-power vehicles. According to China’s Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Xin Guobin, regulators are working on a timeline to make it possible to phase out vehicles based on fossil fuel.
France
As one of the leading countries willing to use the zero-emission vehicles in the country, France has announced to end the sale of gas and diesel powered vehicles by 2040. However, the government has allowed hybrid cars to run on roads even after 2040. Currently, the share of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country is meager almost 4 percent, but the demand for the electric and hybrid vehicle is growing. In Q1 of 2017 alone the sales of the electric and hybrid vehicle were up by 25 percent.
Other than those three major economies, countries like Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark, Japan, Ireland, Austria, Korea and Spain have also announced to shift its fossil fuel powered vehicle market into the electric vehicle-powered market.
