The next tweet caught a lot of attention: Elon Musk said that he doesn’t promise that the next generation of the Roadster’s upgrade package will make it capable of flying short distances, but it could happen. Then he went on to give a few arguments including that it is possible, but it is a question of safety, but it could open up unimaginable possibilities.Elon Musk TweetWhile this claim is certainly very bright and delightful, let’s first look around and see what’s going on in the company and if it should be making such claims. One must wonder why the company is talking about anything else other than the main issue at hand: the production bottlenecks for the mass-market Model 3 sedan. With a clear and growing mountain of losses and the slow production rate of its luxury sedan, Elon Musk’s claims are just going to fan the flames that are already weakening the trust of the investors and the public.
