European traffic rules system launched in Mansehra

In a bid to aware the general public regarding the importance of traffic rules and their violations and to make them more responsible citizens, the KPK Police has introduced Europe’s traffic rules system for provision of licenses in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At the initial stage, the new traffic system is being launched in Mansehra district to filter out traffic violations which are on the rise and after that the authority will introduce the same traffic rule system in other cities and regions of KPK as well.

According to the new traffic system, the driving license will carry a total of hundred points, and with each violation, 10 marks would be deducted—meaning if one has violated traffic rules for 10 times his/her license will be cancelled. And to get the license back on running one has to participate in Public Social Responsibility scheme—in layman terms, one has to serve the society to get the license back.

DPO Mansehra, Syed Shahzad Nadeem, while talking to media, said that the primary aim of introducing this new traffic rule system is to aware people about the importance of following traffic rules and regulations.

We reached out to one of the locals, and he also appreciated the initiative taken the KPK Police.

The authority has put forth three different social work which one can take and after the completion can get the license reissued.

  • A citizen can choose to plant 10 trees or can work with the Forestation Department for ten straight days.
  • Secondly, one can opt to work with Town Municipal Administration for the cleaning of the city for ten days.
  • Lastly, if one wants to get the license back, he has to work ten days with traffic police of the town to help small children cross the road.

It is pertinent to mention here that it is first of its kind initiative in Pakistan and is indeed a great example for other provinces as well to follow it.

Excellent move by KPK but the penalties should be more humiliating like opening the chocked gutter line, sweeping the streets in a 3 piece suits etc

you make fun of people who open choked gutters but the fact of the matter is, if they didnt do their job, you and i and alotta people would be swimming in excrement. you should learn to be a little more humble, the only humiliating things in this thread is your comment
