‘2025 North American Car of the Year’ (NACOTY) goes to the Civic Hybrid, yeah! You get it right. Honda Civic Hybrid has crowned this prestigious award of honor. Securing 205 votes, the hybrid sedan earned this title earlier this month on Jan 10, 2025, during the media day of the ‘Detroit Auto Show’ – another feather in the cap of Honda’s iconic sedan.
This is not the first time that the Civic nameplate has won hearts; the recent victory marks the Honda Civic’s fourth win at the NACTOY Awards, which no other car has claimed since this award commenced. Back in 2022, 2016, and 2006, the Honda Civic received similar accolades.
Moreover, it’s the second NACOTY award for 11th-generation Civic and Honda’s seventh overall. This is the fourth time the Civic has received the prestigious award, a record unmatched by any other nameplate in the award’s 30+ year history.
Concerning the contenders in this race, the Civic Hybrid triumphed over the Kia K4 and Toyota Camry and emerged as North American Champion.
In a market flooded with crossover and MPVs, Civic e:HEV efficiently managed to steal the limelight, urging enthusiasts to reconsider the non-ending charm of sedans.
