In order to facilitate citizens who are not avid users of the internet, the Excise Department has also introduced an offline SMS vehicle verification service to motivate users in carrying out a vehicle registration check whenever they find themselves in the process of buying a new or a used car. The service charges of sending the text comes at a negligible cost of 50 paisa. SMS car verification service is only available in Punjab and the capital city, Islamabad.
