Hyundai Venue crossover unveiled at NYIAS 2019

Hyundai has unveiled its entry-level crossover Venue at the big stage of the New York International Auto Show 2019.

The New York International Auto Show is a highly-anticipated 10-day event that kicked-off on 19th April and will last till 28th April 2019. The largest auto event is famous for introducing the latest automotive trends with an extraordinary collection of automobiles equipped with modern and innovative technology. The South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai is also participating in the mega-event showcasing its upcoming cars including Hyundai Venue which is new to the company’s lineup. One of the most interesting facts about Hyundai Venue is that it would be the most affordable vehicle in crossover lineup of the automaker. Note here that it’s also been introduced in our neighboring country, India. Let’s have a look at what the crossover has to offer to its consumers.

Power train:

The version of Hyundai Venue introduced in the North-American auto market which is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Exterior:

Hyundai Venue measures 3995 mm in length, 1770 mm wide and stands at 1590 mm height. Hyundai Venue resembles the styling language of the company’s SUV Santa Fe and flagship Palisade. However, it’s the compact version of the Hyundai Kona. It has a cascading front chrome radiator grille design that gives it a stunning look. The muscular front of Hyundai Venue is powered by split-type sleek headlights. Underneath, there are stylish fog lamps installed for enhancing the driver’s visibility in bad weather conditions. It has chrome door handles and floating roof design that enhances the impression of the SUV on the road. At the rear side, it’s equipped with tail lights which are square in shape but don’t look too impressive on the outlook. The compact SUV has 17” elegant alloy wheels. The company has also installed a shark fin antenna on the roof.

Interior:

Inside the cabin, there is a two-tone combination of grey and light grey interior with silver embellishments on several parts of it. The floating touchscreen is installed at the center of the dashboard. There are as many as 4 air vents at the front which are square in shape with rounded corners. There is also a power sunroof present in the all-new SUV which is somehow a standard feature these days. The information cluster is a clear bright display shared by a speed and revolutions meter. It also displays several real-time parameters such as fuel gauge, engine heat level indication, trip meter, etc. The rear seats have a 60/40 ratio of split fold-down feature to increase the capacity for additional luggage.

Features & Connectivity:

The compact SUV is surprisingly packed with numerous hi-tech and innovative features under functional versatility. The 3-spoke steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment has cruise control and other multimedia features. It’s also equipped with automatic climate control and traction control. As for connectivity features, it has USB, AUX and 12V charging dock inside the cabin. The 8-inch touchscreen display offers an entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Safety features:

The multi-sensor technology used in Hyundai Venue offers following advanced safety features:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Blind Spot Collision Warning
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist

Price:

The compact SUV is expected to be priced under the US $20,000 for the base model in the USA.

As we mentioned earlier, Hyundai Venue has also been unveiled by the Hyundai Motor India and it’s expected to be launched in the country on 21st May 2019. The expected price of the Venue in India is around INR 7-12 lacs (ex-factory). Since it’s all set to make its way to the auto market of India, there are chances that Hyundai might also look to introduce it in Pakistan in the future. The addition of a compact SUV in the local sector of Pakistan would be a good move by the auto manufacturer. It’s only speculation, and we will have to wait and see if the automaker decides to do so.
