Isuzu D-Max was launched back in 2018 in Pakistan. The launch of this pickup truck diversified options for local consumers who previously had only one option: Toyota Hilux. It launched with three different variants and two engine options. These engine options were 2.5L and 3.0L. Now, Isuzu has launched a face-lift of the D-Max to give it a fresh look. Exterior
In the facelift, Isuzu has tried to give the D-Max a more sporty look. There is a new front grille design, new bi-LED headlights with DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), new 18-inch alloy rims, new fog lamp garnish design, blacked-out b-pillar film door, and a side step. The new front grille gives the D-Max an aggressive look. The new headlights illuminate the road brighter and DRLs help to identify the vehicle during the day. The new 18-inch alloy rims make the pickup truck more stylish and sporty. The blacked-out b-pillar design gives a seamless flow from the front door to the rear door.
The side step with ornament design and silver garnish not only helps to get in and out of the vehicle but also adds to the elegance of the D-Max. It also comes in five different exterior colors: black, red, grey, titanium silver, and super white. Door handles and tailgate handles are all chrome which gives the vehicle a premium look. The side mirrors are also chrome plated and they house LED turn signals. They are also electrically adjustable and foldable. Mudguards are also provided both at the rear and ay the front.
Interior
The interior is now also improved and comes with more features to make the ride comfortable. There is an updated interior dash panel with new soft-touch materials that add to the premium quality of the interior. Back seat charging ports is available to help the rear occupants conveniently charge their electronic devices on the go. The cruise control feature makes driving less hectic and more comfortable. Seating comfort is optimal with leather seats and the sporty design elements provide you with a performance-oriented feel while driving. The 8-inch infotainment screen is paired with 8 speakers and comes with GPS functionality. D-Max has a Passive Entry and Start System (PESS) that lets the driver into the vehicle and start it without having to take out the key from the pocket. The smart climate control feature makes the ride pleasant and comfy.
Safety
There are a number of safety features that come with the facelifted D-Max. These include Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS). The ABS, EBD, and BA help in keeping the vehicle stable and in control when brakes are being applied. The ESC prevents the vehicle from skidding in sharp turns or maneuvering and helps in regaining control of the vehicle. The TCS is very handy on offroad journeys and helps you keep the vehicle in control even on bad surfaces. To make driving easy and safe in hilly areas, D-Max comes with Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC). It also comes with front passenger and driver airbags (dual airbags).
Performance
Currently, Isuzu D-Max comes with a 3.0L in-line 4-cylinder turbo intercooler diesel engine. This engine produces 120 kW (160 bhp) of power and 380 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission with a sequential shift. Direct injection electronic common rail fuel system comes in D-Max. Immobilizer also comes with D-Max to enhance safety. Ventilated disc brakes are present at the front and drum brakes are present at the rear.

Verdict
The facelifted Isuzu D-Max is a capable pickup truck that can be taken for offroading with significant ease. It is a tough and rugged vehicle that is comfortable to drive in due to a score of features inside the interior. The major drawback of Isuzu is that it is still building its market and the used car market is not as active as its key competitor Toyota Hilux.
The D-Max in Pakistan complies with Euro 2 emission rating while in the rest of the world it comes with Euro 6 compliance. In Pakistan, we also get fewer variants of the D-Max. We do not get a single cab and extended cab of the D-Max. These different variants range from business range to adventurous range that helps the customer choose which variant suits them best.
