Lexus Flying ‘Hover-board’ Is Here!

Few weeks ago, we shared an interesting article about an interesting invention with a teaser video. It was about a Levitating Hover Board By Lexus. Today, Lexus have officially released the actual working product. According to Lexus, they have designed this working levitating board in collaboration with experts in super-conductive technology.

According to Toyota, the levitation is created by the use of superconductors. The system inside the board maintains a very low temperature for superconductors by using liquid nitrogen. Due to this, electrical current is created that can repel magnets. The special surface over which the board will levitate uses advanced magnets allowing the board to remain floating and move without any friction.

The board is 36 inch long, around 9 inches wide and 4 inches thick. The board can hold a person with a weight of 200Kg’s. The super conductors inside the board are cooled with a liquid nitrogen. Once the liquid nitrogen evaporates, the levitation stops. In other words, you need to recharge the board with a fresh liquid nitrogen. Once fully filled it will remain suspended over magnetic surface for about 20 minutes.

However, if you’re thinking that this will be your next Lexus, then unfortunately no. Lexus says that this is not a mass production product and it will not be for sale to public.
