Possible Reasons for Offer on Yamaha Bikes
It is apparent that the company has not done it out of their good heart, rather, it could be a sign of low sales, and through this offer, Yamaha wants to boost the numbers. As per Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) data, the company sold only 2,503 units in the last two months, which is a significantly lower compared to last year’s 3,985 units during the same period.
The second and maybe the biggest reason is the continuous price hikes by Yamaha. The company has increased the bike prices four times in 2022 only. The rates of Yamaha bikes have gone up by Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000 on average this year, which is a massive jump in a matter of just 7-8 months. Due to these jumps, now all Yamaha bikes cost over Rs. 250,000 and are indeed taken out of a normal person’s reach. Most people in Pakistan cannot afford such expensive bikes for daily use.
Also, the Yamaha bikes were even sold on “ON Money” in the local market. As per our research in March 2022,
- The premium on YBR (Simple Sports variant) was Rs. 8,000.
- Meanwhile, the YBR 125 G & Grey’s rate was Rs. 10,000.
- And the premium on YBZ & DX was Rs. 8,000 with a delivery time of 1 month.
But now it seems that the bubble has burst, and the company is facing issues in selling them. Still, it is a good news for Yamaha lovers as they can get the bike of their choice in installments and enjoy the ride.
