Mercedes-Maybach to Unveil its ‘Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6’ Coupe this Weekend
When it comes to ultra-luxury in automobiles, Maybach is the brand to beat. Yes, there are brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley, but Maybach arguably is way ahead of its competition. Maybach was simply named Maybach and was owned by Mercedes-Benz. But the name soon died and has been now revived as Mercedes-Maybach. And recently, Maybach revealed its Vision Concept vehicle, a more than 18 feet long 740 HP electric ultra-luxury coupe.
Officially dubbed as ‘Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6’, the automaker will unveil its new concept vehicle on the weekend at the ongoing Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The concept coupe is around 18.5 feet long and looks like a perfect combination of retro design lines and curves and modern build and styling. The car looks extremely slick and streamlined. Gorden Wagener, who is the head of design for Daimler AG, said in a statement,
“With its intelligent appeal and reduced, technoid look, it perfectly embodies our design philosophy of sensual purity and our pursuit of aerodynamic efficiency,”
The concept vehicle also has gullwing doors; a Mercedes-Benz hallmark.
The Maybach concept coupe has an electric drivetrain and allegedly can do more than 200 miles in one single charge. Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 comes with an 80-kilowatt-hour lithium ion battery pack carefully stored in the floor of the car. The car comes with all-wheel drive platform, and those batteries have enough juice to propel the coupe to 100 kmph in 4 seconds with all the 740 HP from zero rpm. And with Mercedes’ fast charging technology, you can get 62 miles per five minutes of charging.
