Pak Suzuki has previously revealed that the company plans to replace Suzuki Mehran 800cc to Suzuki Alto 660cc in 2018 but the CNG version is getting the boot this year.

The company has scrapped the CNG-fitted Suzuki Mehran variants and has discontinued it from July 10th. In a letter, the company informed its dealers that keeping in view the current low demand for CNG vehicles, the company has decided to discontinue all CNG variants of Suzuki Mehran.

“Keeping in view the current low demand for CNG vehicles, the company has decided to discontinue all CNG variants of Suzuki Mehran,” it said.

The company also stated that it intends to serve the users who have already ordered the automobile but refuses to take additional bookings.

Cars with CNG fitted kits once rose to popularity due to the low fuel cost but with the shortage of CNG over the years, this segment has come crashing down.

However, from the look of things in the local car industry, the future doesn’t look so bright for the CNG sector.
