And finally, Proton cars have also seen a price increase. In a notification, Al-Haj Automotive said that the reasons behind the price increase include fluctuation in PKR vs. US parity, global supply chain disruption, and fluctuating freight charges. Furthermore, the government has placed restrictions on Letter of Credit (LC) opening, increasing the challenges of importing the required quantity of CKD kits.
“Therefore, we are compelled to increase the prices with effects from August 4, 2022,” the company said.
Proton Saga
Here are the revised prices of the sedan.
- The new price of Proton Saga Standard Manual variant is Rs. 2,824,000, against the old rate of Rs. 2,579,000. This means its price has been increased by Rs. 245,000.
- After an increase of Rs. 270,000, the new price of Proton Saga Standard Automatic variant is Rs. 2,999,000, against the old rate of Rs. 2,729,000.
- The new price of Proton Saga Ace Automatic variant is Rs. 3,149,000 against the old rate of Rs. 2,849,000. So, it means the price saw a hike of Rs. 300,000.
New Prices of Proton X70
And these are the updated prices of the company’s crossover SUV.
- After observing an increase of Rs. 900,000, the new price of Proton X70 Premium FWD variant is Rs. 7,300,000, against the old rate of Rs. 6,400,000. However, the people with the old booking will pay Rs. 7,100,000.
- The new price of Proton X70 Executive AWD variant is Rs. 6,850,000 against the old Rs. 6,050,000. It means the car saw a jump of Rs. 800,000.
The notification further said that despite the challenges, the company has obtained sufficient CKDs.
Proton Pakistan is the last car company to increase car prices in the fresh wave. And we do hope that the prices will remain the same for at least a few months.
