In a recent circular by Proton, a significant development has been announced concerning the realization of refund cheques. The circular, dated August 18th, 2023, sheds light on a delay in processing refund cheques that were initially scheduled to be presented on or after August 20th, 2023.
The circular references a previous circular dated July 26th, 2023, which pertained to the deferral of payment against refund cheques.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, specifically the lack of funds through sales and other channels, PROTON won’t be able to honor the cheques issued on July 27th, 2023, which were set to be presented for processing on August 20th, 2023. To accommodate this situation, the company has requested the customers to deposit these cheques on or after September 28th, 2023.
In an effort to keep customers informed, the company is reaching out to each customer directly through SMS messages to inform them of the situation and the new deposit date.
It’s reassuring to note that this delay is an exceptional circumstance, and PROTON assures its dealers that there won’t be any further postponements in the settlement of these refund requests.
