Sazgar Engineering Works Limited is lightening up Pakistan’s biggest auto show with its all-new BAIC vehicles showcased at International Expo Centre Lahore.
As per the details, PAPS 2020 has begun from 21st February and will continue for the next 3 days in Lahore. It’s a very highly anticipated auto event where Sazgar is making headlines as it’s displaying its upcoming BAIC cars in Pakistan. The company has not yet revealed the launch date of these vehicles in the country, but they are expected to be introduced soon. BAIC is a Chinese state-owned Beijing Automotive Industry Company, which, in collaboration with Sazgar Engineering Works, is introducing these vehicles in the country. The following BAIC vehicles are currently present at the Sazgar’s outlet at the 3-day-event.
- BAIC BJ40 Plus (off-road vehicle)
- BAIC Senova X25 (compact crossover)
- BAIC Senova D20 (5-door hatchback)
BAIC BJ40L:
BAIC BJ40L is an off-road vehicle available in two types of engines i.e., B201R 2.0-litre mated to a manual transmission that produces 145 kW power and 270 Nm torque and B231R 2.3-liter coupled to an automatic transmission which produces 184 kW output power and 350 Nm of torque. Among them, the 2.0-liter variant comes in two types of options, including 2WD comfort and 4WD elite model. On the other hand, the 2.3-liter version of BAIC BJ40L comes in a 4WD luxury version only. The off-road vehicle has Euro V emissions and disc brakes at the front and rear sides. The higher-end model of BAIC BJ40L comes with 17-inch aluminum-alloy rims and a tire size of 245/65 R17. It also has control and safety features, including the following:
- ABS + EBD
- Dual Airbags
- 3-point seat belts
- Central locking system
- Anti-theft alarm system
- Immobilizer
- ISO FIX hook
The door outside mirrors is electronically controlled, heated, and foldable. It also features a chrome grille and Matt paint. On the rear side, it has a combination LED taillight and a rear window defroster. Note here that BAIC BJ40 is also available in a base variant model as well. It’s available in 2.4-litre M/T, 2.0-litre M/T, and 2.3-litre A/T engine and transmission options.
BAIC Senova X25:
BAIC Senova X25 is a compact crossover equipped with a 1.5-liter A151 engine with a Euro V emissions standard. The crossover vehicle is available in two variants in terms of its transmission. BAIC Senova X25 comes with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission. In each of these variants, the company is also offering two types of vehicles in terms of driving modes i.e., comfort edition and sports edition. The vehicle is equipped with safety and control features such as:
- ABS and EBD braking system
- Anti-theft alarm system
- Child safety lock
- Rear parking radar
- ISO FIX hooks
- Immobilizer
- 3-point seat belts for front and rear row
- Central locking
BAIC Senova X25 is also equipped with daytime running lights (DRLs) with a height adjustment feature of headlights and fog lamps. It also has a high-mounted LED brake lamp at the rear side. For entertainment, it has a 7-inch screen with smartphone connectivity and multi-functions on the steering wheel.

BAIC Senova D20:
BAIC Senova D20:BAIC Senova D20 is a 5-door hatchback that comes in two types of engine options i.e., 1.3-liter engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and 1.5-liter paired to both 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission. It also has a Euro V emissions standard. Like other models, this hatchback is also equipped with the following control and safety features:
- ABS + EBD
- Cruise Control
- ISO FIX
- Immobilizer
- Airbags
- Electronic throttle
- Headlights on warning system
- Fog lights
