The Pakistani auto market is getting bigger each year. More and more manufacturers are entering the market with their latest and greatest cars. One of the car segments getting a lot of hype is the crossover SUV. Many new crossover SUVs have arrived in Pakistan, and we are expecting some more. Today, it’s all about the B-segment crossovers.
We are hearing a lot about four B-segment crossovers coming to Pakistan — KIA Stonic, Proton X50, Peugeot 2008, and DFSK Glory 500. First of all, these upcoming crossovers could not be more diverse. KIA Stonic is South-Korean, Proton X50 is Malaysian, Peugeot 2008 is French, DFSK Glory 500 is Chinese.

As you can see, Glory 500 is the biggest, then X50, then Peugeot 2008, and then Stonic.
Which is the most powerful?
Here is what the four upcoming crossovers have under the hood.
KIA Stonic comes with a 1.4L KAPPA II MPI engine that produces 100 horsepower and 133 Nm of torque with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Proton X50 comes with a 1.5L Turbo GDI engine that produces 174 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque with a 7-speed DCT.
Peugeot 2008 comes with a 1.2L Puretech engine that produces 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
DFSK Glory 500 comes with a 1.5L engine that produces 116 horsepower and 147.5 Nm of torque with CVT.
Clearly, Proton X50 has the most powerful engine. Peugeot 2008 is second in power numbers, DFSK Glory 500 is third, and KIA Stonic is last.
Which is the most beautiful?
You can tell from the pictures, Proton X50 has the most striking looks, then Glory 500, then KIA Stonic, and then Peugeot 2008.
X50, Glory 500, and Peugeot 2008 all three have LED headlights, rear lights, and fog lights. Stonic is the only one with halogen headlights, rear lights, and fog lights.
Which is the safest?
Safety-wise, all four crossovers are equal on most fronts.
All have Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Traction Control System (TCS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), and cruise control. All four except Glory 500 have six airbags; which only has two.
