Spy Shots of Next Gen Honda Accord

Accord may no longer be Honda’s best seller, but it sure has had a long healthy run. The sedan is making a statement with its 11th generation. The spy shots of upcoming Honda Accord are all over the internet, and every petrolhead is talking about it. Here is the first glimpse of the new model.

Looks

Design-wise, the new model resembles a lot with the current 10th generation Accord. The body shape remains somewhat the same but with new features. The front griller has gotten bigger, headlights and taillights have gotten slimmer, and the hood has gotten flatter than before.

It looks like the company has tried to keep some design elements hidden with false panels. There’s some trickery going on underneath the camouflaged wrap.

The spy shots don’t give away any hints about the car’s interior, so we don’t know what to expect from the interior.  

Powertrain

Honda has not yet revealed the engine options for the new Accord. Car experts believe the upcoming model will carry over the ongoing model’s 1.5-litre turbo and 2.0-litre turbo gas engines but with some revisions.

However, the company is betting on the hybrid variant as the “top and best performing model in the lineup.” Honda wants the hybrid variant to win the most sales of the new model.

Besides the hybrid variant, more electric options are likely to be in the new Accord lineup. The initial launch will be all about the hybrid Accord; other variants will follow shortly after.

Launch

Honda has already confirmed the next generation Accord Hybrid will debut after the new CR-V Hybrid. So, if the new CR-V is coming later this year, we can expect the new Accord to join the party early next year.
