Accident Claims the Lives of Three Rangers’ Personnel
Three Rangers’ personnel were killed and eleven injured in a road accident, when their double cabin pick-up truck overturned after the tie-road collapsed on the Motorway, three kilometres from Fateh Jang on Thursday, the police said.
According to the sources, the Rangers’ vehicle was heading towards Tarbela from Islamabad when it overturned, killing two on the spot.
According to Motorway Police, Rangers Hawaldar Asim Majeed and Lance Naik Ashiq Ali died on the spot and Sipahi Ghulam Shabbi succumbed to injuries in hospital; as reported by DAWN.
Rescue teams and two ambulances reached the accident site and moved the injured trapped inside the wreckage of pick-up truck, and moved them to various hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
DAWN further elaborates that one Ranger Personnel is in critical condition and is under treatment in a military hospital, while rest of the eight victims received minor injuries. The police have registered a report for the incident. The funeral prayers for the deceased Rangers’ Personnel were offered in Islamabad.
