Later, a senior official at the Ministry of Industries and Production revealed that under the World Trade Organization (WTO) regime, the government can’t ban CBU imports. Now, the Ministry of Industries and Production has issued a proposal to the Tariff Policy Board to increase taxes on all CBU car imports.

The ministry has suggested to impose 50% regulatory duty on the import of

  • Electric vehicles with over 50 kWh battery pack
  • Hybrid vehicles of 1501cc to 1800cc
  • Fuel-powered CBU vehicles (no engine displacement specified)

There is one error Proton X-70 CKD kits should reach this month and start assemble, thus i don’t think price will increase.
For Kia the carnival is encounting succes too bad it isn’t a CKD but since only wealthy family can afford it i don’t think it will be much a issu.
Haval was already overpriced like MG.

And at the price of MG HS and Haval Jolion i would rather brought a Proton X-70, with the money save, use it for fuel or maintenance.
Or A Kia Sorento with the Starting price of 6 900 000 PKR with 2 more seat, bigger and more powerful engine a 2.4L engine, and with better durability and reliability, Sorento was among the most reliable SUV according to JD Power.
But for people who dosn’t need a 7 seats why not choosing Proton with his 5 years or 150 000km warrranty the longer in Pakistan ?

@Waqas I agree that Proton is reasonably priced but its parts are expensive and as per select reports they are not even available

I didn’t see the price of spare parts but when you buying a car the main things is to buy a reliable car, i don’t know why in Pakistan i think about spare parts, someone who got the money to buy a car, won’t worry about the spare parts, maybe i don’t understand since i wasn’t born and grew up in a developping country like Pakistan.
