I am sure not many in Pakistan would know what NASCAR is, and how pointless it is. To put it simply, there is a giant oval and really fast cars go really fast in it. With the passage of time, health and safety have gotten stricter and stricter. And motorsports are no exception. Formula One was shaken to its core due to the two deaths in the same weekend. Roland Ratzenberger lost his life in the qualifying session of the same San Marino Grand Prix in 1994 in which Ayrton Senna lost his life. After that Formula One took a long and hard look at their sports and driver safety took the top spot on the list.
Same is the case with NASCAR. There was a time when people used to just bang into cars willingly. You can watch the video if you don’t believe me. A gentleman on his bike decided to hit a car head-on just for the sake of entertaining the crowd. The race was delayed for this otherwise completely unnecessary stunt. The race itself might be boring considering there are like 500 laps of the same thing happening over and over again, but ‘healthy’ race weekend activities like these definitely fill the gaps left in your automotive needs. Enjoy the video.
