Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrates Euro 2016 Victory by Buying a Bugatti Veyron

Ronaldo Bugatti Veyron Vitsesse

Portuguese footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo after leading his team to Euro 2016 title has shelled out his earnings to buy a Bugatti Veyron. Reportedly he paid USD 2.3 million to get his hands on Veyron’s convertible variant, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, which is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in under 2.6 seconds while maintaining a top speed of more than 400km/h. Ronaldo complimented the announcement by posting two photos of the car parked at his home on Instagram with captions “The animal arrive” and “Garage time. Soon your honor arrive”.

While many may argue that he would have been much better off waiting for the Veyron’s successor Chiron, but Ronaldo does not like to stay put for a ‘fitting celebration’. The reason why I used “fitting celebration” over here is the obvious symbolism behind his purchase. In Euro 2016 Final, Portugal outclassed France on their home ground to become the European Football Champions. So to make two out of one, Ronaldo decided to score an extremely expensive Veyron coming from the same country, France (Bugatti’s home ground) before the Euro Cup victory fizzles out.
