Bike sales up for 2nd straight month in October 2018

The bike industry has seen sharp sales growth for the month of October 2018 as per the stats provided by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

According to the details, year-on-year (October 2017 to October 2018), the sales of bikes has surged by 14%. Atlas Honda sold 107,669 bike units in October 2018, up by 16% year-on-year. In the same period of the corresponding year, it sold 92,207 bikes. Moreover, apart from year-on-year (YoY) growth, the sales on month-on-month (MoM) basis has surged by 12%. The company sold 96,008 units in September 2018. Recently, Honda Pakistan also launched 2019 Honda CD 70 and CD 70 dream for its consumers.

Now coming to Pak Suzuki, the company shipped 2,305 bike units in October 2018 and 1,761 in the same period of the previous year. There is a hike of 30% in sales YoY. Furthermore, there is also a 19% increase in sales on the MoM basis. United Autos sold 41308 bikes in October 2018 and 37951 in 2017. The sales grew by 8%.

Moving onwards, Yamaha and Road Prince vended 2121 bikes in the month in question, there is a 20% increase YoY and 5% MoM. It is important to note here that the total number of bikes sold in the month of October 2018 is 153,403. Despite multiple price hikes due to rupee depreciation, the sales of bikes are surging which shows the growing demand for bikes in the country.
